ALTERNATIVES · PROFOUND

Profound alternatives

Profound publishes no price for anything you can buy — a free trial, and an Enterprise plan marked Custom. If you are shopping for a number, this page has everything that is public, plus a cheaper first step: measure your own pages here, free, before you sit through a sales call.

What Profound is, in their own words

quoted, not paraphrased
Meet your AI Marketer — Research, write, report, and collaborate with a superintelligent teammate who knows your brand. — Profound, pricing page, read 17 October 2026
For companies operationalizing AI Search insights and running marketing agents at scale. — Profound, Enterprise plan description, read 17 October 2026

The product has moved. It began as a way to see how a brand appears across AI answer engines, and the pricing page now leads with an agent that researches, writes and reports. The tracking is still there — it sits further down the page, under Answer Engine Insights.

Trial — Free. 50 unique prompts, daily for 7 days. Three engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews. One language, one region.
Enterprise — Custom. No published figure. Everything on the page is listed as custom or tailored.

Why people look for an alternative to Profound

four reasons, four answers
01

You cannot get a price without a call
If you need a figure before you can get anything approved internally, this is the wall. Peec AI publishes $95, $245 and $495 a month. Otterly AI publishes $29, $189 and $489. Both let you sign up without talking to anyone. Ours are on the pricing page in full, including the one-time job at $199.

02

The trial is seven days, which is not long enough to know
Seven days of fifty prompts on three engines, one language and one region. If your question is whether AI answers change over a month, a week cannot answer it — and a week is the only way to see the product before committing to a sales process.

03

You want the page changed, and a subscription does not do that
This is the reason that leads to us. Profound now generates work — agents that research, write and report — but it does not go into your site and change it. If what is missing on your side is somebody to implement, more monitoring will not close that gap. Our paid work is a job, priced once.

04

You want to check one page without a trial and without a call
Everything on this list starts with a signup. Ours does not: paste a page, get eight checks, no account and no email. It is a narrower question — whether the page can be reached and read at all — and for a first look that narrowness is the feature.

Four things Profound does better than us

the part most alternatives pages leave out
01

They monitor several engines continuously
Enterprise covers up to nine answer engines. Monitoring is not what we sell: we check a page you own, and if you pay us we change it. Our citation monitoring opens later; the eight free checks work right now.

02

They see what people actually prompt
They publish prompt-volume data — what users are asking AI answer engines. We have nothing like it. Our own dataset is forty-eight sources measured six times, which is a study, not a panel.

03

They connect to your infrastructure
Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, AWS, Fastly, WordPress, Google Analytics — they read server logs and attribute AI-sourced traffic to a page. We have no integrations of any kind. We cannot tell you which of your pages AI actually sent a visitor to.

04

They are built for a team, not one person
Unlimited seats, shared projects, SSO and SAML, SOC 2. If you are buying for a department, that procurement list matters and ours is empty. We sell to one person who owns one site.

Why this section exists. A comparison that only lists the author's advantages is advertising. If you are choosing between Profound and us, the four rows above are the ones that should worry you about choosing us.

Questions this page raises

short answers
How much does Profound cost?

It does not say. Its pricing page lists a free Trial and an Enterprise plan marked Custom, and publishes no figure for either. As read on 17 October 2026, the only route to a price is a demo. That is a fact about their page, not a criticism of their product.

Are you a Profound alternative?

No. Profound monitors how a brand appears across AI answer engines. We check one page you own and, if you pay us, change it. If what you need is cross-engine brand monitoring, we are not a substitute for Profound, and this page says so instead of pretending otherwise.

What is the cheapest way to monitor my brand in AI answers?

On published prices, Otterly AI's Lite tier — $29 a month for fifteen prompts across four engines, daily — is the cheapest entry point of the three platforms we checked, and it costs twenty dollars less than our own Starter plan while delivering continuous monitoring we do not. If monitoring per dollar is your metric, that is the answer, and it is not us.

If I just want the page fixed, should I buy Profound?

No, and this is the one case where we are the right answer on this page. Profound generates research, drafts and reports; it does not edit your site. If nobody on your side is going to implement the recommendations, a subscription will not fix the page — that is what our one-time job is for.
