AI Citation Tools

This is the directory you are reading. We are the first listing because it is our directory, and we say so on the card. What we will not do is invent a number for ourselves — so this page carries the same eight checks we run on everyone else, including the one we fail.

citations. We were never in the measured pool: the 48 sources come from the search results of five queries, and we were not among them. There is no honest citation number for us yet, so this listing shows none.

Why zero is written as zero and not as a dash. A dash reads as "not measured yet", which sounds temporary and flattering. Zero is what we actually have: no measurement, therefore no citation count. When this site enters a pool we will publish the fraction, whatever it is, next to the 48 sources that were measured properly.

This is the whole point of the listing. Any directory can put a checkmark next to its own name. Ours carries the value behind each row, the check we fail, and the code that produced them — so you can disagree with a row instead of having to trust it. The failed row is the reason the other seven are worth reading.

Why we are first, and why that is not a rank

the difference matters
01

The 48-source board is a measurement, not a catalogue. Every one of those listings came back in the search results for one of five queries we actually ran, and was then put in a fixed pool and measured six times. Being on that board means a machine could have cited you. It is not a list of everyone who asked.

02

So this listing has no position, and the card says OURS instead of a number. Putting ourselves at #1 would mean inventing a measurement we never ran, and it would break the one rule that makes the rest of the board worth anything: a position cannot be bought or granted, only measured.

03

The day this site enters a pool, it gets measured like everyone else. Same queries, same six runs, same page-text condition. If it comes out at 0 of 6 next to a competitor at 6 of 6, that is what this page will say.

Note the fourth field. The machine is told this is the directory's own listing and that no rank was assigned — not left to infer it from our copy. A machine that reads only the structured data should reach the same conclusion a person reading the page reaches.

What this listing does not claim

read before you trust it
01

Seven of eight is not a score. The eight checks are hygiene, not a ranking. A page can pass all eight and never be cited; a page can fail two and be cited every time — one listing on this board does exactly that. We publish the count because it is a fact, not because it predicts anything.

02

The audit is of our homepage, not of the whole site. The numbers above come from one page. Sixty-four other pages on this site have not been run through the check, and some of them would fail more than one row.

03

Self-audit is not independent review. We ran the check on ourselves, using code we wrote. The one thing that makes it checkable is that the code and the input files are both named on this page and both ship with the site.

04

Nothing here was paid for, and nothing here can be. This listing carries no sponsorship and no rel=sponsored, because it was not bought. When a placement is paid for, it will say so on the listing itself and carry the attribute.
