Kollavo places your brand. We fix your page.
Both make a site more likely to be cited by AI search. They are not two versions of one product: one buys a place on a page you do not own, the other changes a page you do. Below is what each one actually sells, what it costs, and what happens to your citation the day the other side changes its mind.
What Kollavo does, in their own words
Kollavo is a marketplace that connects brands with the publishers and sources that large language models cite. — Kollavo, llms.txt, read 16 October 2026
We choose the sources AI already cites in your category … Booked, negotiated and published without per-site approvals. You only review the article draft. — Kollavo, pricing page, Autopilot plans, read 16 October 2026
So the product is: they monitor which sources AI cites for your category, sell you a place on those sources, and handle the outreach, the negotiation and the publishing. What you buy is an appearance on a page somebody else controls.
Track $49/mo · Managed $99/mo · Autopilot $549 / $999 / $1,399 per month · Directory Launch $149–199 one-time

What we do
We place nothing anywhere. We check whether a page you own can be reached and read by AI retrieval, generate the files that fix what the check finds, and — if you pay us — go into your site and make those changes ourselves. The finding is free. What costs money is the labour.
Where the two mechanisms differ
What your money buys
Kollavo: a place on a page someone else owns. AI Citation Tools: a change to a page you own.
Whose asset the result lands on
Kollavo: the publisher's site. If they rewrite, de-index or drop the piece, the placement goes with it. AI Citation Tools: your site, and nothing anyone else does can remove it.
Whether the effect can decay
Kollavo: yes, and they have published on AI citation decay themselves. AI Citation Tools: the change stays on your page until you change it.
Whether you can verify it yourself
Kollavo: you can confirm the page exists; you cannot confirm the engine will keep citing it. AI Citation Tools: you can re-run the same eight checks and see the same result.
How the free part is delivered
Kollavo: eight tools, each of which asks for your domain and runs on their servers. AI Citation Tools: nine tools, eight of which run inside your browser, which is why we can offer them without a usage limit.
What each one sells
A placement on pages AI already trusts
- Drafts the mention in your voice, in the article's style
- Places it on sources the engines already cite
- A dashboard that tracks the placement
- Recurring — plans from $49 a month
- The page belongs to the publisher, not to you
A page that stops being blocked
- Eight checks on a page you own, free and unlimited
- The files that fix what the checks find, written for your site
- A published measurement of whether AI cited you at all
- One-time — $199, no subscription
- The page belongs to you, and nobody can rewrite it out from under you
Why we do not sell placements. A placement is a fact about someone else's page. The day they rewrite the article, drop the section or lose the ranking, the citation goes with it — and you cannot do anything about it. Everything we sell is a change to a page you own, so it cannot be taken back. That is not a moral position, it is the only version of this we can guarantee.
Which one fits your situation
You need to appear inside sources that already exist
- You need reach now, not in three months
- You can carry a monthly budget rather than a one-off
- Your own site is not yours to change, or changing it is too slow
- You would rather someone else ran the outreach and the negotiation
You control the page and want the result to stay yours
- You own the site and can actually change it
- You want a result nobody else can withdraw
- You want to see the problem yourself before paying anyone
- Your budget is one-off, not monthly
Questions this comparison raises
Are you an alternative to Kollavo?
No. An alternative is another supplier of the same thing. These are two different things — one buys a placement, the other changes a page. If what you want is a placement, we cannot help you, and saying otherwise would be a lie told to win a customer.
Are you saying that buying placements is wrong?
No. For a new brand that needs to show up inside sources that already exist, and cannot change its own site quickly, a placement can be the right call. We are describing a difference in mechanism and in cost. We are not claiming to be more honest than they are.
Why do you say a bought citation can decay?
Because the publisher controls the page, not the brand that paid for the mention. Kollavo has written about citation decay themselves, which is why we treat it as a fact about the mechanism rather than as a criticism of them.
Are you cheaper?
Yes — $199 once against $49 to $1,399 a month. But that comparison is close to meaningless, because the two are not buying the same thing. The question worth asking is not which number is smaller. It is who ends up holding the result when the work is done.
